Bullying in British society - academic research

This week is anti-bullying week in the UK

The Anti-bullying Alliance website coordinates the week. its website has information and resources mainly relating to children and young people.
The research section of its website has links to statistics and reports. These include gender related bullying,

Bullying at school

Latest data from UK government on bullying of year 10 pupils compares 2005 and 2014.
 it records an overall fall from 41 to 36%. see the full report for methodology and definitions.

According to EU Kids online cyberbullying is now more common that face to face bullying.
More recent research reports including coverage                                                                             of sexting can be found on the NSPCC website.
 
 Workplace bullying
Unfortunately bullying ocurs to adults in the workplace too.
Recent research from the TUC from a YouGov survey recorded nearly one third of people who responded had suffered bullying. Their website also has examples of other research and support for workers and trade union reps. Their website also has advice for individuals
An Acas paper released this week also argued that workplace bullying is increasing

Nearly a quarter (24 per cent) of NHS employees experienced harassment, bullying or abuse from their manager or other colleagues last year, according to the NHS annual staff survey 2014, a slight increase from 23 percent in 2013.
