Suez Crisis 60th anniversary - find out the facts with our recommended links

60th anniversary of the Suez Crisis -

Habitat III - follow the progress and get the facts from our resources


Habitat III is the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development which takes place biennially - it took place in Ecuador , from 17 – 20 October 2016. Here are some useful websites.

Nuremberg Trials - 70th Anniversary- are they still relevant ?

2017 is the 70th anniversary of the Nuremberg trials - what are they and are they still relevant today - find out more using our academic links

The Nuremberg trials were a series of military tribunals held by Allied forces after WWII  they prosecuted Nazi military and political leaders for their involvement in the Holocaust.

Today is world Mental Health day- find out more using our free academic resources.

10th October is World Mental Health Day. the 2016 theme is pyschological first aid- supporting people following crises.- mental health in emergencies. The official WHO organisation website has papers and resolutions on these topics.

The Mental Health Foundation estimates that 1 in 3 adults in the UK has experienced traumatic events that have impacted on their mental health. Their free online guide discusses post traumatic stree and mental health issues

World Federation of Mental Health has published a free guide Dignity in Mental Health-Psychological & Mental Health First Aid for All

The YMCA and NHS has launched the I am whole social media campaign to combat  stigma
Light up purple campaign 
Mind is using vloggers and mental health selfies  to show the physical effects of anxiety as part of its #mentalhealthselfie series
Glitch campaign from SANE add a filter to their profile pictures on Facebook as an act of solidarity. This shows how disorientating and alienating mental illness can be.

Suicide by patients with mental illness. The latest anual confiential report records rising rates.
During 2004-14, 28% of suicides in the UK general population were by people under mental health care, a total of 18,172 deaths over the study period.
NatCen report on Attitudes to mental health problems and mental wellbeing amongst the public examined public opinion. It found that "Perceptions of workplace prejudice have improved over time, but the view that someone with a mental health problem would be just as likely to be promoted as anyone else is still only held by a minority"
